CUNY Support

College & Community Fellowship (CCF) first came to the Graduate Center at CUNY in 2000 and was housed at the Center for the Study of Women and Society, where it remains today. The initial contributions, largely from  a single donor, went to support the ongoing operation of CCF as well as to support CUNY graduate students in research activity linked to CCF. More than 57 fellowships were given to graduate students from Sociology, Psychology, English, Theater, Anthropology, Criminal Justice and Social Welfare to participate in activities linked to CCF. The activities of CCF in which graduate students have been directly involved include: the conviction seminar, the With/Out Walls Conference, researching for and writing proposals for joint projects between CCF and the Center for the Study of Women and Society; developing a mentoring program for CCF students; developing and teaching a course for CCF students and developing and participating in Community Leadership and Education After Reentry (CLEAR).
