Peer Mentoring Program
Coming this year
Our Peer Mentoring Program matches mentors (women with criminal justice histories and a college degree) with mentees - women who will be released from prison within six months. Mentors and mentees correspond monthly during incarceration and for one year post-release. CCF staff offers a 12-week curriculum inside prisons for mentees, and a training program for mentors.
Both mentors and mentees receive financial support: mentors earn stipends for their hard work, while mentees are provided MetroCards and other supports to take some of the stress away from life post-release.
We work in Taconic Correctional Facility, Bedford Hills Correctional Facility, Rikers Island, and Albion Correctional Facility.
