Theater for Social Change Ensemble

The Theater for Social Change Ensemble (TSC) is comprised of formerly incarcerated women who earned their college degrees post-release. TSC members write and perform original pieces about their experiences with incarceration and education, touching on themes ranging from community disinvestment to redemption to discrimination in the workplace.

TSC performances have the power to change hearts and minds when it comes to stereotypes and misconceptions about what it means to have been to prison, and about mass incarceration. Through their original pieces and talkbacks with audience members, the theater group raises public awareness and advocates for change.

CCF is currently seeking funding to sustain the theater group. For questions, please contact Melanie Steinhardt (msteinhardt@collegeandcommunity.org)
